I recently attended my youngest son’s graduation from Marquette University as part of  the Class of 2014, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Congrats2014

Congrats to Nico and the rest of the Marquette graduating Class of 2014!

Whew!!!

Guessing that this might be my last trip to this historic campus, nestled within Milwaukee’s heart, I wanted to experience it from atop my board and to share a bit of the campus & landscape with others.  One of the special things about caster boarding (esp. OG Ce Style), is that you can experience and become part of the landscape, as opposed to just observing it.  Kinda like looking at snow covered slopes compared to playing in it.

Marquette University is a vast and beautifully landscaped campus. It has several historic, interesting, and unique buildings, such as the “St. Joan of Arc Chapel” that was reconstructed on Marquette’s campus and now sits floating amidst the tulips (Select image to enlarge).

Contrasting this  is “McCormick” hall, the tall, cylinder, modern 12 or so story, freshmen, 1st time living away from home, party dorm.

AIR – Marquette University, Class of 2014 is a living example of the commencement theme, which was to appreciate the humor in life, and reminded us not take ourselves too seriously. And you must admit,

there is not much more silly than a grandpa riding a ripstick, spinning this way, then that.

Finally, I am blessed in sooooo many ways to have had this adventure! “AIR – Marquette University, Class of 2014” shares a tiny piece of that adventure and in the process, may make me the only father of a Marquette student in the graduating class ever to caster board on its campus.
