This is an alert to you, of the possibility that the 2 parts of the board may simply slide apart in the middle, while you are riding, tricking or whatever especially those of you sporting Bladeboards 360s.

Bladeboard 360

While I felt something was odd, it was not until I stopped and looked down that I realized  ‘Oh snap, the board had slide apart’.

Upon further inspection, it appears that the piece that 1 of the 2 bolts, that connects the 2 platforms together, was broken.

Broken 360 board

I have been ripsticking for a lotta years, and I have and have had a lotta boards.  Never has this happened, or even been a consideration.  Fortunately, I was able to stop flow and come to a stop.

Broken Piece

To be fair, it was a is a used board that had I’d gotten 2nd hand from the Salvation Army (I am a board addict) a few months earlier.  It looks like an older model and is quite solid and weighty.

I don’t think that the previous owner knew that board was broken, or that it was broken when I bought it.   There would be no reason for anybody to donate a board that they knew was broken.

I had ridden it 2 times before,  so I spect it broke during that ride.  At 190+ pounds and my style of riding, I certainly push a board thru its paces.  However,  I have Ripstiks that I have riden a hell of a lot harder and a lot more times than this one.

My greater concern is what could have happened to the other 99% of you riders who don’t rip it OG Ce Style.  Instead of happening to an OG spinning to and fro, drawing 8s, what if it happens while you’re jumping this or grinding that?  Or  going really fast down a steep steep hill, as some seem to enjoy?  This could turn half of the board into a projectile that the you could land on.  So be aware and careful!

I hope the makers of the Bladeboard 360 will watch out for y’all and improve the strength of these key parts.  However, in the meantime, OG Ce recommends that you look out for yourself and

check your board immediately before your next ride, and periodically thereafter,

to at least check to see if this connector is compromised.
